Each
person in the UK uses approx. 150 litres of water per day.
On average 35% of this is used for flushing toilets and 15% for
washing clothes, cars and watering the garden.
Not a drop of this need be of drinking water quality!
With ever increasing demand for water, limited space available
for new reservoirs and over-stressed distribution systems
the need for an increase in small scale, local water storage and
better water management becomes ever more compelling.

Rainwater Harvesting
Acting like a private
reservoir, a rainwater storage system will enable you to
collect and use rain water for the low risk uses in homes, offices and
factories and will reduce the risks of overwhelming drainage systems
during heavy rainfall.
Whether tanks are located
above ground, or below ground (as illustrated) a correctly sized system
will hold around a month worth of water for a typical family to be used for
toilet flushing, washing machines, irrigation and general wash-down uses.
RWH systems are a low
cost, good sense solution for all new and many major refurbishment projects.
Cutting water bills, lessening the distress of prolonged dry spells and
hosepipe bans, whilst discharging rainwater into the sewage systems gradually
via toilets over a prolonged period.

Greywater Recycling
Water
that has been used for light washing purposes; showers, baths and hand
washing, which contains dilute cleaning chemicals
can be collected and used directly on the garden.
If
properly cleaned this clarified water can be recycled and re-used at the
property for feed washing machines, car washing and to flush toilets, (. . . and irrigation of course !)
By
installing a Greywater treatment plant in the
basement or sub-surface as much as 50% of the water metered into the
building can be recycled without the energy costs of transporting it to the
municipal water treatment plants.

Combined Systems
Combined
rainwater & greywater recovery systems can be
specified to make best use of the roof area and waste water resources at
the building.
Whether
a house, sports club, hotel, care-home, office or factory, water recovery
system can be designed to meet your needs and capacity.
The
water tanks can be designed to be internally or externally located or a
split system with internal filter tank and external large capacity
rainwater storage could be the best solution for the project.
