Wind Turbines are the
third highest contributor of UK renewable energy.
We
offer installation of wide range of highly efficient horizontal and vertical
axis wind turbines,
suitable for all sizes of ground or
rooftop mounting, by experienced and fully accredited installation teams.

Vertical Axis Wind
Turbines
|
Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT) do not need to be pointed into wind, whilst low rotational speeds reduce noise,
maintenance and to some are more visually acceptable than horizontal axis
turbines.
In urban locations wind streams can swirl, funnel and
combine to render HAWT's unsuitable, yet in such locations, with more
powerful winds near the ground a VAWT can often produce more power than
HAWT's placed at higher elevations. Low tower heights are thus
acceptable where planning requirements do not permit turbines to be placed
at height.
Roof mounting is popular with this type of machine,
with numerous examples across the UK.

Small Scale Horizontal
Axis Wind Turbines
|
Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines
(HAWT) for small scale installations are becoming a familiar
sight. A proven technology these machines are robust and durable delivering high performance electrical energy.
At the domestic end of the range
the Skystream 3.7 is an elegant,
swept blade, residential wind turbine designed to make wind power
accessible at your home and to reduce the electrical bill. Rated output is
1.8kW at 10m/s with peaks of 2.4kW at 14m/s.
For greater output consider the Proven
wind turbine range. Rated at 2.5kW, 6kW & 15kW at 12m/s, their
unique blade design, which adapt to wind conditions, optimise performance
and safety.
Available for mounting on
rooftops or at ground level on towers from 6.5m to 15m, for grid or battery
connection.

Commercial Scale Wind Turbines
|
20kW & 50kW Horizontal Axis
Wind Turbines are available for commercial, industrial and agricultural
sites where a heavier electricity load is required and open space is
available.
The 20kW Westwind
units, developed in Australia, are now UK manufactured and available on
masts for towers from 12m to 18m. The 10.4m diameter rota has a cut
in wind speed of just 2.5m/s and boasts a highly enviable track record with
many successful and productive installations around the World
. Battery or grid connection options area
available.
The 50kW HAWT unit has
been developed and tested in the harsh Canadian climate. The 15m
diameter rota can be mounted on either a 24m or 31m tower of either
mono-pole or lattice tower structure.
Rated for 50kW at 11.3m/s with a
cut in wind speed is 4.6m/s.
